beginnings
how I got started | I was originally in the financial industry
and after a trip to Costa Rica in 2003, I came back to find that my
entire sales team had been laid off due to market conditions. It was
inevitable that I too would follow suit. I had taken a course in
finding my passion a year earlier and decided that it was now or never.
I took the principles of maximizing an investment and coupled that with
my love for homes. Organized Outcomes was born in 2004. Five years
later, my clients and I were both frustrated by the complex nature of
the online world (ie doing a Google Search for grey paint and getting
200,000 articles). Determined to do something about simplifying ways to
make great decor decisions, I created the Remote Stylist in 2008.
inspiration
why this job?| I'm passionate about helping people. Your home is
the place that, ideally, reinvigorates and revives you, a safe haven.
We are all busy, battling the clock each day. Whether it's helping
someone navigate the process of a move, or a renovation, I love the fact
that both my companies enable them to do that quickly and easily.
love
why I love this job!| I love that I can work from anywhere. I travel constantly and thrive off different environments.
work
my typical day| That would be me attached to my computer and blackberry for 18 or 20 hours, but I love it!
challenges
what they are | Trying to run two companies at once! There are
never enough hours in the day and the internet and all the online
applications change by the day.
upside
all about growth | Build and sell. Create a valuable concept,
increase customers, increase sales, increase revenue. The home
renovation industry in North America topped 20 billion dollars in 2008.
There is no shortage of growth potential.
