Title: Technical Recruiter
Profession: Recruiting and Sourcing
I find candidates for positions for technology companies in America.
EDUCATION | Bachelor in Psychology
HOW TO GET STARTED | I think that it is best to get a degree either in psychology or sociology. Any human resources or administrative internships or job positions will help you.
MUST HAVE TRAITS | Analytical, organized, social
beginnings
how I got started | I was working for Nordstrom out of college and really wanted to use my psychology degree in a career. I found this job on a job board and thought this is perfect for me because it is so social. It is perfect because I am constantly analyzing people and trying to help them find the best possible job.

inspiration
why this job?| I really enjoy helping people find a career they are passionate about. It's a very social atmosphere and I like the people I work with.

love
why I love this job!| Social, helpful, advising

work
my typical day| I get to work around 8:45 a.m. and I check my email. Email is how I correspond with clients and businesses that are looking to hire. There is a morning meeting everyday. At the meeting we go over which positions at certain companies need filling the quickest. Afterward I look online at websites like monster, facebook and user groups for potential candidates. Then I try to meet with them to find out their expectations. I then try to match the client with the best company.

challenges
what they are | It is tough to deal with people. Sometimes they don't take advising well. They don't know what's best for them.

upside
all about growth | There will always be agencies helping place people into positions, so there will always be a demand.
