EDUCATION | Undergraduate degree in international relations from Lehigh University and a MBA from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business
HOW TO GET STARTED | This line of work is really unique. I put in about a year of diligence, considering it and planning the business model. As Warren Buffet said, find your passion and the money will follow.
MUST HAVE TRAITS | Above all, persistence: having the diligence and persistence to follow through with your plan. Early on, ensure you take the time to think through your business plan and all of the various outcomes. As you get going, remember to be stay flexible enough to take advantage of the unexpected opportunities as they pop up.
beginnings
how I got started | How I got started: Previously I had worked in the corporate world in various roles: sales, marketing, consulting and corporate strategy. But then I had "one of those moments" and decided to shift gears. I always had a passion for working with student athletes as they transitioned into careers. I had played basketball in college, and growing up, my family had always been involved in college athletics. When I was working in the corporate world, I had always found that student athletes made great employees. I saw student athletes as individuals who had learned how to do the balancing act of academics and athletics and how that truly prepares you for the challenges of the corporate world.

inspiration
why this job?| I wanted to be an advocate for student athletes who were getting ready to transition into a career. As they neared graduation, they were somewhat at a disadvantage because their time had been consumed by athletics and studying, leaving little time for them to think about looking for a job.

love
why I love this job!| I love working with college students. I love working with the employers, helping them find the right talent. I love the entreprenurial aspect of running my own company.

work
my typical day| I have two different kinds of days. Sometimes I'm on the road, going to college campuses or corporate offices to meet with student athletes or corporations who are interested in hiring them.Other days I work from my home office, where I spend alot of time on the phone, calling prospective clients. When I'm home, I love being with my family.

challenges
what they are | You need to have the right people around you who will support your goals - most importantly for me, that means family. You need to have honest, upfront conversations with them, because as much time as you think you will have to put into this job, triple that and you'll be about right.

upside
all about growth | The growth opportunity for our business mirrors the worforce demographics. As the Baby Boomers move towards retirement, Gen X and particularly, Gen Y will come into higher demand. The numbers behind those demographics are staggering, so we really believe we are ahead of the curve in working with employers as they plan their workforce and recruiting strategies. Considering our business model is so unique, the growth opportunity for our business has a tremendous upside.
