I founded Quint Strategies in 2005. Quint is a boutique marketing agency that specializes in integrated marketing programs that drive real revenue opportunities for our clients. EDUCATION | In addition to my college education, my best learning experience was working for a software start-up company. It was an amazing opportunity to go to work for a company on the ground level and be an integral part of its growth. That company went on to have the highest performing IPO for a software company in history. That experience was better than an MBA!
HOW TO GET STARTED | As a small business owner, you have to want it more than anything else and you have to be focused. It is very different than working in a corporate setting where you have lots of coworkers and meetings each day. You have to be able to work independently and juggle multiple tasks for your clients....while constantly thinking about your business and how to grow it.
MUST HAVE TRAITS | Attention to detail, organized, strategic thinker with creative ideas, good with people, love of travel, quick thinker on your feet.
beginnings
how I got started | I have always been in marketing, but on the corporate side. At the same time, I have always wanted to have my own company. I just didn't know in the beginning that it would be a marketing agency. About 5 years ago I decided I wanted to open my own marketing agency....that dream became a reality 3 years ago. So, it took me a couple of years to get it all together....and make sure it was something I wanted to do.

inspiration
why this job?| The desire to be my own boss and run my own agency. Plus the opportunity to work for a variety of interesting clients with different challenges and goals. Very exciting!

love
why I love this job!| Everything! I love my clients...they are the best. I love the challenge of building this company, my dream, from the ground up. It is hard work, but it energizes me.

work
my typical day| I keep normal business hours (9 am - 5:30 pm; Monday thru Friday) so I can be available to my clients. However, more times than not, I work much much later to meet deadlines. If I am traveling, then the day can be even longer.

challenges
what they are | Right now, my main challenge is figuring out how to grow my business in a fiscally responsible way.

upside
all about growth | I don't want to grow too big. I like being a boutique agency. However, I would like to take on more clients and hire 10-20 people over the next 5-10 years.
